LFO Warriors

A back-and-forth game all night long saw the LFO Warriors come up on the short end of a 56-55 decision to Bremen in the opening round of the Region 6-AAA tournament Tuesday night at Sonoraville High School.

LFO (9-16) trailed 28-25 after a tight first half, but continued to pressure the Blue Devils in the second half. The Warriors had a couple of looks to take the lead in the closing seconds, but could not get either shot to drop.

Patryk Gilbert paced LFO with 19 points, while Jacob King and Andrew Brock each finished with 11 points.

"This team far exceeded what most people thought," head coach Jerry Jones said.

The Lady Warriors will begin play in the tournament Friday at 7 p.m. in a semifinal game against Haralson County, who eliminated LFO a year ago.

LFO automatically advanced to the semifinals and earned a berth in the state tournament by virtue of winning the 6-AAA North subregion title.
