Alex Kelehear had 16 points and went 6-of-6 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter as the LaFayette Ramblers survived a 45-38 challenge at Northwest Whitfield on Friday.
LaFayette (16-1 overall) moved to 7-0 in region play with the victory. The Ramblers trailed 18-17 at intermission and 32-27 starting the fourth quarter, but outscored the Bruins 18-6 in the final eight minutes.
Jon Morgan had 14 points, followed by Vyshonn Daniel with seven.
Chris Cunningham had 17 points for Northwest.
In the girls' game, the Lady Bruins stayed unbeaten in Region 6-AAAA with a 71-34 victory.
LaFayette fell to 2-13 overall and 1-6 in region play. Individual scoring was not provided as of press time.
The Ramblers and Lady Ramblers will play non-region games at Trion on Saturday, starting at 4 p.m.
