The Heritage Lady Generals came out with guns blazing on Tuesday night as they put up 44 first-half points in route to a 73-48 home win over Ridgeland.
Heritage (15-8, 7-4) led 20-10 after the first period and increased its lead to 44-23 by the break. They would connect on 15-of-20 free throw attempts in the game, while also making eight three-pointers.
Emily Wiley had 17 points for the Lady Generals. Ansley Bice added 15 points, followed by Nicole Fine with 14 and Sarah Bandy with 10.
Brylee Dunn led all scores with 20 points for the Lady Panthers (4-18, 2-10). The senior also had 10 rebounds, four blocks and a pair of steals. Haley Sandridge finished with seven points and seven rebounds, while D'Erika Ervin and Kia Wade each had five points. Hailey Bryant added seven boards, while Erin Hughes had six rebounds.
In the boys' game, the Generals held a slim 28-23 lead at the break, but pulled away in the fourth quarter to pick up a 61-44 win over the Panthers.
Blake Bryan had 16 points for Heritage (13-11, 7-4). Cole Wilcox finished with 15. Luke Grant added 10 and Adam Thacker dropped in nine.
Fred Norman paced Ridgeland (5-16, 3-9) with 16 points. Markeith Montgomery added nine, while Nathan Carver and Eric Byrd had six apiece.
The regular season is now over for Ridgeland, while Heritage has one date remaining. The Generals and Lady Generals will play their final games at LaFayette on Thursday starting at 6 p.m.
The Region 6-AAAA tournament is slated to begin Monday at Southeast Whitfield.
