After an entire month off the court, the Lady Bobcats of Georgia Northwestern hit the hardwood again on Tuesday night.
However, it wasn't the triumph return to action that the Navy-and-Silver were hoping for as the junior varsity squad from NAIA Bryan College handed the Lady Bobcats an 86-54 loss in Dayton, Tenn.
The Lady Lions improved to 5-1 on the season with the victory, while the Lady Bobcats dropped to 7-3 overall.
Tori Harvey led the way with 20 points, adding six rebounds and four steals. Taylor Bethune added 13 points, grabbing four boards and collecting one steal, while Mia Clark had 11 points, five rebounds and also recorded one steal.
Christina DeSalvo had four points, three rebounds, an assist and a steal. Katy Phillips finished with two points, six boards, two steals and an assist. Madison Lewis added two points and picked up four rebounds, while Hannah Carr, a freshman from Calhoun, saw her first action of the season. She scored two points, had four rebounds and picked up an assist, a steal and a block.
In the men's game, the JV Lions moved to 4-6 with an 86-53 win over the Bobcats, who fell to 2-10 overall.
Bryan dominated in the second half after the two teams went to the locker room knotted up at 30 apiece.
Individual scoring for the Bobcats was not available as of press time.
Both Georgia Northwestern squads will be back in action on Friday night as they play host to Southern Crescent Tech out of Griffin, Ga. The Lady Bobcats will tip off at 5 p.m., followed by the men's game at 7.
