The Oakwood Christian Academy Eagles fell behind 40-20 at halftime and lost their basketball season opener at home to Apostolic of Knoxville on Thursday, 71-42.
Woody Hass led the Eagles (0-1) with eight points, followed by D.J. Terry with seven points, two assists and two rebounds. Trevor Hobbs had six points, while John Jacob McSpadden added six points to go with three boards and two steals. J.J. Lanham finished with five points.
Garrison Baggett, Jacob Wellwood, Phillip Davis and Andrew Phillips each had two points. Phillips picked up seven rebounds and three steals, while Davis added five boards.
Apostolic girls 47, Oakwood Christian 21
The visitors from Knoxville led 22-12 at the break and added to the lead in the second half on a clod shooting night for the home team.
Grayson Broadrick led OCA (01-) with eight points, while Annika Green had six points, nine rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. Mary Catherine Ownby added five points and three boards, while Lilly Green scored two points and collected three steals.
