The LFO Warriors split their first two home games on Saturday and currently sit at 2-2 on the season.
Chattooga 10, LFO 4
The Warriors got a solid first game at the plate from Brice Donnahoo, but could not overcome four errors in a Game 1 loss to the Indians.
Donnahoo was 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored, an RBI and two stolen bases. Giovanni Barroso was 1-for-3 with a run and two stolen bases, while Andrew Brock, Jake Bass and Joseph Heinrich each recorded one RBI.
Three pitchers took the mound for the Warriors. Riley Mosier started the game and was saddled with the loss, while Brock and Jackson Herrod also threw for the home team. The trio combined to give up nine hits and seven earned runs with six walks and just two strikeouts.
LFO 9, Chattooga 5
The Warriors had five errors in the second game, but were able to overcome a 5-4 deficit with a five-spot in the bottom of the sixth.
Zach Coots gave up two unearned runs on three hits and a walk with six strikeouts. Mathew Trusley threw the final two innings, allowing three earned runs on two hits with two walks and two strikeouts. Trusley was credited with the victory thanks to the late-game offensive explosion.
LFO was extremely aggressive on the basepaths with 12 stolen bases as a team.
Brock was 4-for-4 with three runs scored. The senior had two doubles and two RBIs with three stolen bases. Barroso went 2-for-2 with a run, and RBI and two stolen bases, while Bass and Heinrich had two RBIs apiece. Donnahoo also swiped two bases and picked up one RBI.
The Warriors will be back at home on Monday with a 5:30 p.m. game against Model and they will host LaFayette at 5:30 on Tuesday as non-region play continues.
