The Heritage Generals managed just one hit on Friday, but were able to salvage the third game of the three-game series with Northwest Whitfield, scratching out a 2-1 win over the Bruins in Boynton.
A Seth Godfrey RBI in the top of the third gave Northwest (8-7, 4-2) the lead, but Heritage would manufacture their two runs in the bottom of the fourth. One came on a sacrifice fly by Johnathan Hickman and the other on a groundout by Brody Campbell.
Cole Wilcox threw the first six innings, allowing just three hits and two walks with four strikeouts. Justin Morris walked one and fanned one in the seventh to pick up the save.
Hank Bearden took the loss in relief for starter Andrew Ashe.
Heritage (9-4, 4-2) will step out of region on Monday for a road game at Calhoun before hosting Dalton in another non-region game on Saturday (1 p.m.).
