The Gordon Lee Trojans moved to 4-1 on the season and snapped Ringgold's four-game winning streak with a win on the road at Bill Womack Field.
Ringgold surrendered a run in the top of the third inning, but came back in the home half of the frame as Holden Tucker launched a two-run homer and the Tigers would add two more runs in the fourth thanks in part two a pair of Trojans errors.
Daulton Schley would account for Ringgold’s final run with a fifth-inning RBI.
Down 5-2 heading into the sixth, Gordon Lee used its power game to take the lead. Hunter Hodson and Dylan Minghini each hit solo home runs, Caleb Hopkins ripped a double and Austin Thompson gave the Trojans the lead for good with a two-run blast.
Hopkins, who relieved starter Jake Wright in the fourth, would work one final inning in the bottom of the sixth before handing the ball to Hodson, who struck out two in the seventh to record the save. Hopkins got the win in relief.
Logan Streetman had a pair of doubles to aid the Trojans’ cause. Schley, Tucker and Nathan Camp each had two hits for Ringgold, while Wyatt Tennant struck out eight in five innings, but not no decision.
Gordon Lee will play at home on Thursday against Northwest Whitfield at 5 p.m., while the Tigers (4-2) will look to regroup on Friday when they play at Heritage. First pitch is set for 5:30.
