Heritage Generals

Sebastian Orozco's two-run single in the top of the sixth inning proved to be the game-winner as Dalton spoiled the home opener at Heritage with a 10-5 victory on Thursday.

The Generals cruised through the first five innings. Cole Wilcox had a solo homer in the bottom of the first, while Lance Dockery added one in the third. Luke Grant also added a sacrifice fly.

But Dalton would put up a seven-spot in the top of the sixth to take the lead before tacking on three more insurance runs an inning later.

Dockery would add a triple to finish the day 2-for-4. Johnathan Hickman was 1-for-4 with two RBIs, while Blake Bryan had a double.

Tripp Church started the game, while Nolan Letzgus was saddled with the loss. Heritage used five pitchers on the night.

Heritage (0-3) will face another tough challenge Friday night with a road game at cross county rival Ringgold.
