A Rossville man was arrested on multiple charges after he allegedly avoided a traffic stop by speeding away from an officer and hiding at a friend's house, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department:

Brandon Richard Ferrell, 25, of Nawaka Avenue, was arrested Nov. 14 on charges of speeding, fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving while license suspended, and reckless driving.

Ferrell has since been released from jail on bond.

The incident occurred just after 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, when Ferrell was observed speeding along Three Notch Road at Mill Lane.

Ferrell was allegedly doing 68 mph in 45-mph zone, when he past by Deputy Rick Ellison.

"I saw smoke coming from the vehicle's tires on the hill near South Wood Drive," Deputy Ellison said. "Due to the offender's speed, I lost sight of the vehicle."

Ellison was eventually able to track the vehicle to a residence on Jalopy Ridge Drive inside The Ridges subdivision where Ferrell was hiding.

Ferrell subsequently came out of the home and admitted that he sped off because his license was suspended.
