Mavis Sims Huskey, 87, Chickamauga

Mavis Sims Huskey, age 87, of Chickamauga, formerly of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, July 24, 2017 in a local healthcare facility.

She was born March 12, 1930 in Moulton, Alabama to the late James E. & Cordella Price Sims.

Mrs. Huskey graduated from Tennessee Temple College in the early 1950’s.

She was a member of Hamilton Baptist Church and attended Alliance Church.

She and her late husband William Clifford Huskey were retired Missionaries with Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI)

Mrs. Huskey was preceded in death by three brothers, Tommy Sims, J. D. Sims, and Rev. Deen Sims

Survivors include her daughter, Regina (Phillip) Stuart of Chickamauga; son, John (Shannon) Huskey of Dunlap; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will begin in the East Brainerd Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Ray Thompson and Rev. Virgil Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.

Charles Allen Gray, 66, Rossville

Charles Allen Gray, 66, of Rossville, Georgia, was called home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was a graduate of Rossville High School Class of 1968 and was a member of South Seminole Baptist Church and regularly attended New Covenant Baptist Church with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hansard and Wilma Gray, and his grandparents.

He is survived by a son Chuck, three sisters; Debbie (Larry) Grant, Sharon (Mike) Gregg, and Cindy Simmons; special Uncle and Aunt Irvin Boatwright and Mary Evans; many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews that he adored.

His sisters are so thankful for his wonderful sense of humor, his love shown to their families and most importantly, his walk with Christ.

Ruth Joyce Freeman Love, 75, Ringgold

Ruth Joyce Freeman Love, 75, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, she was a former employee of Hutcheson Home Health where she worked for over 15 years as a CNA and was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Willard Sheridan and Minnie Elizabeth Jenkins Freeman; sister, Evelyn Haire; and four brothers, Willard Freeman Jr., Richard Freeman, Rupert Freeman and Robert Freeman.

She is survived by four children, David Love of Ringgold, GA., Jackie (Ron) Pence of Ringgold, GA., Janet Love of Ringgold, GA., and Jennifer (Michael) Boleman of Mobile, AL.; five grandchildren, Nathan Love, Daniel Pence, Matthew Pence, Rachel Pence and Rebecca Boleman; several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 28, 2017 at Anderson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: Thursday from 5-8 P.M. and Friday from 9 A.M. – 12:30 P.M. at the funeral home.
