Ruth Imogene Petty, 87, Ringgold, Ga.

Ruth Imogene Petty, 87, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

A native of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, she has lived in the Ringgold area for the past 45 years and was formerly of Chattanooga. She was a member of Welcome Hill Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Petty; parents, William Ross and Martha Sleety Morgan Petty; two sisters, Mary Ann Petty and Novella Moore; and six brothers, Orville, Claude, Ralph, Paul, Cecil and Wallace Petty. She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Bill) Kapherr of Rossville, GA., and Vicki (Daryl) McCurry of Chattanooga, TN.; two grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services: Noon Thursday at Gordy Cemetery with Rev. Herman Kapherr officiating.

Visitation: 3-8 P.M. Wednesday and 9 A.M. until 11:30 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mary Evelyn Cummings Bell, 70, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, she was of the Church of God faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bell Sr.; mother, Ruby Hullender Cummings Nash; father, Lewis "L.R." Cummings; son, Jerry Wilson and brother, Ernest Cummings.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Melinda Wilson of Ringgold, GA.; sister, Bonnie Dyer of Dalton, GA.; brother, Roy Cummings of Ringgold, GA.; two grandchildren, Joshua Wilson and Brittany Wilson; great grandson, Gavin Wilson, several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services: 4:00 P.M. Friday, December 22, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Paul officiating.

Ksandra Jane Nolen, 70, Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.

Ksandra Jane Nolen, 70 of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

She had lived in the Calhoun & Rossville area for many years before moving to Orlando, Florida and was of the Baptist faith. She was a Nurse Practitioner for several years and had worked with Gordon Adult & Pediatric Medical Associates. She loved being a Nurse and had a passion for working with children. She was always taking care of others before herself and was known as the neighborhood mother a.k.a. "MeeMaw" to many children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy & Tommy Powell.

Survivors include her loving husband of more than 52 years, Gary Nolen of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; children, Cindy King, Marietta, GA, Joel & Lori Nolen of Ringgold, GA and Anthony Nolen of Seattle, WA; brother, David Powell of Chattanooga, TN; 2 sisters, Deborah Carroll and Tammie Powell both of Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren, Matthew & Michael Heard and Natalie Nolen and numerous extended family & friends.

Funeral services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

Burial: Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

Agnes Esther Eaton, 80, LaFayette, Ga.

Agnes Esther Eaton, 80 of LaFayette passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017.

A native of New York City, she had been a resident of LaFayette for the past 45 years where she attended The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul. Agnes was a prayer warrior and a very loving mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Moses J. Eaton; parents, Emil and Olga Shandor; and sister, Theresa Duda.

Survivors include her sons, Christopher (Cindy) Eaton, Douglasville, GA and Anthony Eaton, Atlanta; daughters, Laura (Brian) Wilson, Madisonville, TN and Gina (Neal) Tench, Ft. Oglethorpe; sisters, Nancy Napolitano and Lillian Shandor, both of Smithtown, NY; along with eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass: 3 PM Friday at The Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul with Father Riehl officiating.

Interment: LaFayette Cemetery.

Dewayne Williams, 41, Rossville, Ga.

Dewayne Williams, 41, of Rossville passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 in a local hospital. Mr. Williams was born to Eddy and Etta Williams on May 22, 1976. He is preceded in death by his father. During his life he enjoyed making people laugh, was very a understanding person, and was a hard worker. He worked for AVS Vending, Fast Corp., Safforn Inc., Rainmaker, and ACT.

Survivors include his loving children, Charlie and Mary-Etta Williams; mother, Etta Williams; brothers, Danny Williams and Greg (Beth) Williams, "Big Sis", Jannas Winkler, Several loving nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be 6:30p.m. Thursday in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.

Hershell Glenn Thomas, 90, Trion, Ga.

Hershell Glenn Thomas age 90, of Trion, GA went home to be with The Lord Tuesday – December 19, 2017.

He was born in the Waterville community on December 22, 1926 to the late Jeffie & Bessie McConkey Thomas. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Koehring Southern Crane Company in Chattanooga, TN. He enjoyed farming and harvesting a big garden every year for his family and neighbors. He also enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and working on old tractors. He was a member of Waterville Baptist Church in Trion, GA.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents: George & Eva Bandy Thomas, John & Martha McConkey, brother: Alfred Thomas, sister: Betty Jones, infant son: Terry Glenn Thomas, son: Donnie Moulder, son-in-law: Donnie Cabe, great-grandchildren: Brennan and Harrison Baker.

He is survived by his beloved wife of seventy years: Nell Langston Thomas, their children: Wayne (Wendy) Thomas of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, Reita Cabe, Susan (Terrell) Baker, Keith (Vanessa) Thomas all of Trion, GA, Kim (Stan) Reynolds of Summerville, GA, daughter-in-law: Kathy Moulder of Brewton, AL, grandchildren: Jimmy & Valerie Moulder, Jeffery & Darlene Moulder, Janene & Jarrod Jones, Misty Thomas, Tiffany Thomas, Jeremy & Lynn Cabe, Matthew & Amy Cabe, Andy & Tori Baker, Ben & Paige Baker, Jon & Kristin Baker, Cole Thomas, Chase Thomas, Caleb Reynolds & fiance’ Morgan Smith, fourteen great-grandchildren: one great-great-granddaughter, niece: Lori (Mike) Ossmann.
