William Joseph Redmond, 87, Rock Spring, Ga.
William Joseph Redmond, 87, of Rock Spring, Georgia passed away Saturday, November 25, 2017.
A native of Tuckahoe, New York, he has lived in the Rock Spring area for the past 51 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, a former employee of Jake Marshall, a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union local #43 and was of the Catholic faith.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Agnes Begg Redmond; brother, John Redmond; sister, Aileen Varner; and brother-in-law, Glenn "Buck" Varner.
He is survived by three children, Chanshini Redmond, Katrina Redmond, and Wade Redmond all of Rock Spring, GA.; two grandchildren, Kyla and Pierce Mitchell; niece, Patricia Stewart and nephew, Michael Varner.
Graveside services: 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Carvey Lester Thompson Sr., 96 of Flintstone, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, November 27, 2017.
He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was a member of Lookout Baptist Church. He was an Air Force Veteran having served during W.W. II and retired from Rockwell International in 1982 after more than 35 years of service. He truly loved being around family & friends, but spending time at the ballfields with his grandchildren was his greatest joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland Robert & Dovie Parish Thompson; wife, Genevieve Jolley Thompson; brother, R. B. Thompson and two sisters, Patsy Bohannon and Inez Bradley.
Survivors include his children, Carvey "Toby" Thompson, Jr. of Tiftonia, TN and Cathy & (David) Forrester of Flintstone, GA; sister, Peggy Games of Chickamauga, GA; brother, Robert Thompson of High Point, GA; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephew and extended family & friends.
Graveside services: 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 in the High Point Cemetery with Rev. Terry Burns officiating.
Visitation: After 2 p.m. on Thursday and prior to leaving for the cemetery on Friday at the funeral home.
