Lavada Sue Waters Barnes, 75, Ringgold, Ga.

Lavada Sue Waters Barnes, 75, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Sunday, December 31, 2017.

A lifelong resident of the North Georgia, Chattanooga area, she was the bookkeeper for Darrell Barnes Trucking for 25 years.

She is preceded in death by her father, Richard Waters; mother, Eloise Lowe Pierce; sister, Edith Pierce and brother, Steve Waters.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Darrell Barnes of Ringgold, GA.; son, Donald L. Flynn of Ringgold, GA.; two step-sons, Howard Barnes of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., and Scott Barnes of Dalton, GA.; two sisters, Helen Porter of Ringgold, GA., and Deb Shirley of Dayton, TN.; two brothers, Ronnie Pierce of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., and David Pierce of Chattanooga, TN.; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Shane Harris officiating.

Interment: Anderson Memorial Gardens.

Visitation: Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. and Thursday from 9 A.M. until funeral time at the funeral home.

Edna Hughey O’Neal Bell, 89, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Edna Hughey O’Neal Bell, 89, of Chattanooga, formerly of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Bell was born in Chatsworth, Georgia on May 28, 1928 and has resided in the Chattanooga-North Georgia area for several years. She retired from Stanley-Judd for over 20 years. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, sewing, and, most importantly, taking care of her family. She will be remembered for being the sweetest, kind-hearted and special mother and friend that anyone could ever have.

She is preceded in death by her special mother, Bell Gibson, brother, Frank Hughey and two half-brothers, Herbert and Felix Graham.

Survivors include her daughters, Gloria (Gary) Muller, Sharon (Larry) Brodie, Anita Morgan and Carolyn (Jerry) Potter, seven grandchildren, Robert (Kara) Demos III, Christopher (Lisa) Brodie, Timothy Brodie, Jessica Craig, Jeri (Stephen) Voiles, Lindsey Niedergall and Jason Potter, eleven great-grandchildren, Robert (Kara) Demos IV, Chelsea Brodie, Chloe Brodie, Chase Brody, Tayven Brodie, Alex Morgan, Allisa Shafer, Nicholas Shafer, Victoria Craig, Gabrielle Shafer and Elliana Niedergall.

Funeral services: 2:00 PM on Friday, January 5, 2018 in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment: Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

Era F. Glenn Jr., 84, of Rossville, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018 in a local health care facility.

Wilma Jo Reed Patty, 85, Ringgold, Ga.

Wilma Jo Reed Patty, 85, of the Boynton Community in Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2017.

She was a lifelong resident of the Burning Bush and Boynton communities and spent several of her retired years living in Green Valley, AZ. Wilma Jo was a 1949 graduate of Ringgold High School and she retired in 1988 from General Electric as Secretary in the Electrical Engineering Department with over 35 years of service. She was a member of the Burning Bush Baptist Church where she served as Pianist for ten years, and she had been the Pianist at Boynton Baptist for twenty years. During her time in Green Valley Wilma Jo attended Amado Baptist Church. She was a member of the Ringgold Chapter of The Eastern Star #245 and her passions in life were her family, playing the piano and organ, traveling, and adopting many cats and dogs over the years. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Sue Reed; her aunt and uncle, Bruce and Betty Cain; uncle, Selman "Bud" Cain, and cousins, Joyce Boehm and Lebron Cain.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, William Roy "Bill" Bryant Patty; cousins, Theresa Boehm Hoover, Gwen Boehm, Otto Boehm, Jr. (Evelyn), Art Boehm (Debbie), Marion "Doc" Cain; Renzo Wiggins, and John Wiggins; "granddaughter", Maryia Mazhei Cox (Jason); "great grandson", Ryan Cox; lifelong friends, Gwendolyn Brown Jennings (Johnny), special friends, David and Beverly Humphrey, Reba and Ron Massengale, and Roba and Paul Benton; and many more friends locally and in Green Valley, AZ.

Rebecca "Becky" Harris, 65, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Rebecca "Becky" Harris, 65, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 31, 2017 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Harris was born in Chickamauga, Georgia on February 22, 1952 to the late Azel and Shirley Riddle and has been a resident of the Chattanooga area for most of her life. She enjoyed drawing, taking walks and watching her favorite television shows, C.O.P.S. and Dog the Bounty Hunter. Becky was a loving, friendly and happy person who will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband of forty years, Frank Robert Harris, sister, Elaine Smith, several aunts and cousins.

Funeral services: 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 4, 2018 in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment: Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

Terry Lamar Miller, 56, Rossville, Ga.

Terry Lamar Miller, 56, of Rossville, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2017 in a local healthcare facility.

Mr. Miller was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on January 16, 1961 to the late Eugene and Margaret Miller. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked for over 30 years as a painter subcontractor. Terry enjoyed riding motorcycles and working on Hot Rod cars as a hobby.

His grandparents Claude Curtis and Nellie Miller also preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Miller, children, T.J. Miller, Craig Miller, Amanda Miller and Steven Miller, five grandchildren, Rayne, Damien, Vega, Adam-James and Klohyie, one sister, Mary D’Orazio, several nieces and nephews.
