Phillip Lee Burse, 84, Rossville

Phillip Lee Burse, 84, of Rossville, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017.

He was one of the honorable founding members of the Golden Trumpets for fifty-seven years. He was retired from Chattanooga Coke and Chemical and was a member of Cove Road Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Burse, mother, Rosie Dallas Burse, sister, Esther Burse Careathers, and brothers, Elijah Burse, Joseph Burse, and Artis Burse.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Bertha Katheleen Burse; sons, Rev. Jerry Lee (Cynthia) Burse, Dea. Donnie Burse, Aaron (Peggy) Burse, and Steve Burse of Rossville, Georgia; grandchildren; brothers, James Burse, J. L. (Flossie) Burse of LaFayette, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Homegoing service: Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. at Cove Road Church of God, 616 North Chattanooga Street, LaFayette, Georgia, with Pastor James Brown and other ministers officiating.

His remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Wednesday after 11:00 A.M.

Visitation: At the church one hour before the service.

Interment: Naomi Cemetery.

Allan Larry Dworkin, 67, Rossville

Allan Larry Dworkin, 67 of Rossville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, September 25, 2017.

He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was of the Christian faith. He had worked most of his life as a Truck Driver and retired from RRR Transportation. His true passion in life was driving and seeing the country while making a living for his family. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 37 years, Darla Overturf Dworkin of Rossville, GA; children, Charlotte Marie Dworkin-Marshall & (Thom) Marshall of Wicklffe, Ohio, Autumn Dworkin of Rossville, GA, Rebecca Gore & (Billy Moore) of Fort Oglethorpe, GA and Matthew Dworkin & (Jessica Leavitte) of Chickamauga, GA; brother, Jeff Dworkin of Cary, NC; sister-in-law, Pam Coley; 14 grandchildren, Zachery Gore, Preston Dworkin, Katie Shelly, Heidi Edder, Anniston Webb, Manni Dworkin, Sarah Marshall, Lydia Webb, Olyvia Webb, Caydence Loga, Alaunna Vaughn, Levan Dworkin, Billy Moore, Jr. and Waylon Moore; great granddaughter, Mya Grace Dworkin and numerous extended family & friends.

Celebration of Life service: 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the funeral home parlor.

Tammie Brock Rogers Hickey, 58, Chickamauga

Tammie Brock Rogers Hickey, 58 of Chickamauga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 22, 2017.

She had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed singing Karaoke, working with special needs children and was employed with the Walker County School System as a Bus Attendant. She was also active with the Children’s Miracle Network and the Ronald McDonald House for many years. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife and sister who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharron Rogers and beloved sister, Jamie Lucindy Pope.

Survivors include her father, Eddie & (Karen) Rogers of Rossville, GA; loving husband of more than 29 years, Ronald Hickey of Chickamauga, GA; brothers, Clayton Brock of Rossville, GA, Harold Brock of Ringgold, GA, Jason & (Cathy) Rogers and John & (Darla) Rogers both of Rossville, GA; sisters, Sara Sloan of Ringgold, GA, Sandy Johnson of Chickamauga, GA, Norma Rogers of Mississippi and Medley & (Michael) Tapley of Rossville, GA; Brenda & (Mark) Wall, Barbara & (Mike) Sullivan all of Rockmart, GA; lifelong friend, Tammy Durham and special thanks to her loving niece, Valerie & (Paul) Stone; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
