Harold F. Hays, 78, of Flintstone, Ga.

Harold F. Hays, 78, of Flintstone, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at his residence.

Mr. Hays was a lifelong resident of the High Point & Flintstone areas and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church in Chickamauga. Harold retired in the late 1990’s from Gulf Oil in Chattanooga with over twenty years of service and served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1956 – 1960. He coached little league baseball in Chattanooga Valley, was an avid bowler and Georgia Bulldogs fan and was a member of the Crawfish Springs Masonic Lodge #300 F&AM. His parents, Forest Hays, Sr., & Bessie Hays, brothers, Forest Hays, Jr., & Herbert Hays, and sister, Helen Hays, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Judy Hays; daughter and son-in-law, Becky & Richard Golden, Springfield, GA; sister-in-law, Mimi Hays, High Point, GA; several nieces & nephews; and his little buddy, Sampson.

Funeral services: Monday, November 13th at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastors Jeff Lambert & Terry Burns officiating.

Honorary pallbearers: Harold & Brenda Lambert, Cecil & Mary Jo Brannon, John & Sue Ann Dunn, Leon & Jean Ellis, & Patsy Stoker. Interment will be in High Point Cemetery.

John "Mike" Waters Sr., 69, LaFayette, Ga.

John "Mike" Waters Sr., age 69, of LaFayette, GA passed away Wednesday – November 8, 2017.

He was born in LaFayette, Georgia and had moved back to the area in 2006. He served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1966 to 1970. He had worked for several companies as a salesman. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of LaFayette and was a member of the Men’s Class. He enjoyed fishing, making popcorn, eating pecans and apples.

He is preceded in death by his father: John Calvin "J.C." Waters, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of forty eight years: Cheryl Lynne Schnider Waters, daughter: Michelle Grisham both of Mountain Home, Arkansas, son: John Michael (Michelle) Waters, Jr., of Camdenton, Missouri, mother: Vivian Estell Hodges Waters, sister: Jan (Dave) Thompson all of LaFayette, GA, grandchildren: Daultyn Jacobs, Levi, Winter, Raegan and Reece Waters, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Saturday – November 11, 2017 from 6:00 pm until the memorial service at 7:00 pm with Doyle Waters officiating.

Steve Waters, 70

Steve Waters, age 70, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Waters; mother, Eloise Pierce; sister, Edith Pierce; brother, Danny Pierce.

He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Waters; siblings, Martha Johnson, Doris Kittle, Sue Barnes, David Pierce, Helen Porter, Ronnie Pierce, Debbie Shirley; numerous nieces and nephews.

Billy Frank Derryberry, 68, Lookout Mountain, Ga.

Billy Frank Derryberry age 68, of Lookout Mountain, Georgia passed away Saturday – November 11, 2017 at his home.

He was born in Chickamauga to the late Frank Dewitt Derryberry and Myrtle Loraine Green Derryberry Rock. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam where he earned the Combat Infantry Badge, Parchuaute Badge, National Defense Service Medal, two OS Bars, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Sharp Shooter M-16 and M-14 Medals and The Purple Heart. He was a lifelong resident of the Lookout Mountain area and enjoyed fishing. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Rossville Masonic Lodge F&AM #397.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Jerry and Bobby Derryberry.

He is survived by his children: Angela Derryberry Smith, Jennifer Lynn Derryberry McDonald both of Lookout Mountain, GA, Sandy (Danny) Childress of Trenton, GA, John Robert Derryberry of Lookout Mountain, GA, grandchildren: Jonathan Swader, Robert, Gabriel and Luke McDonald, Billy Suede Smith, Justice and Gavin Childress, Brooklyn and Alexia Derryberry, great-grandchildren: Connor, Carson and Chloe Smith, several nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Monday from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and after 10:00 am prior to the service. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm – Tuesday – November 14, 2017 in the chapel with Cecil Gravitt officiating.

Stella Ann Simmons, 74, Chickamauga, Ga.

Stella Ann Simmons, 74 of Chickamauga passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 surrounded by her family.

She had lived in the North Georgia area for most of her life and was of the Baptist faith. She had previously worked as a cashier at many local convenience stores and truly enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family & friends. She was a loving and devoted sister, wife and mother who will truly be missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Lamar Simmons who passed away serving our country during Vietnam.

Survivors include her daughter, Kasey Canfield & (Adam Koetsch) of Chickamauga, GA; brother, Johnny & (Janet) Ingram of LaFayette, GA; sisters, Pauline & (Bill) Higdon, Betty & (Kenneth) Russell and Tammy Graham all of Chickamauga, GA; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Robert Keith Stuckey, 53, Ringgold, Ga.

Robert Keith Stuckey, 53 of Ringgold passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017 surrounded by his family.

He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas and was of the Christian faith. He was a loving and devoted brother, husband, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Jean Shull.

She was a member of Ringgold Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Ferguson; son, Jimmy Ferguson; parents, George and Mary Falls; sister, Vernice Aslinger; brothers, Andrew and B.A. Falls.
