Errol Wayne Ernsberger, 56, Ringgold, Ga.

Errol Wayne Ernsberger, 56, of Ringgold, Georgia, surrounded by those he loved, was called home by his heavenly Father on Monday, December 4, 2017.

He was born in San Diego, California on November 2, 1961. As a young child of a military family he lived in several places including Africa. He lived most of childhood and his early adult life in Charlotte, North Carolina and graduated East Mecklenburg High School in 1980. Errol enlisted in the United States Marine Corp in October of 1981 and faithfully served our great nation until October of 1987. In 1990 he moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where he met the love of his life Kim. After the birth of his daughter Kaitlyn and his son Caleb, the family settled in Ringgold, Georgia. He loved his hometown of Ringgold and was an active member of the community and the owner of two local businesses, Ringgold Lock and Key and Ringgold Commercial Cleaning Company. He was also employed by Big Lots Inc. where he worked as a Manager.

He was a Christian who loved the Lord and trusted in God’s word. Errol was a devoted and loving husband and father and he was a fierce protector and tremendous provider for his family. He was an avid collector of coins, treasured his music collection and loved anything that had to do with history. Errol loved his life and lived it to the fullest. He was known for his sense of humor and his contagious laugh and he was always there for those who needed him. He will be eternally loved and forever missed.

He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Ridge Ernsberger, daughter Kaitlyn Ivy Ernsberger and son Caleb Aaron Ernsberger, all of Ringgold, and who were his whole world, parents Daniel Lee and Frances Irene Ernsberger, brothers Dana Scott Ernsberger (Gina), Philip Olin Ernsberger (Barbara) and Stephen Daniel Ernsberger all of Charlotte, North Carolina, brothers and sisters in law Karen and James Hickman of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia, Roger and Debbie Ridge of Chickamauga, Georgia, Katrina Ridge of Chattanooga, Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Earl Robert and Virginia Cate Ernsberger, maternal grandparents J. Olin and Fanny Middleton Hargett, father and mother in law Joe (Jr.) and Wanda Faye Ridge and brother in law Joe Ridge III.

Funeral services: 1:00 P.M. Monday, December 11, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark Smith officiating.

Visitation: 5-8 P.M. Saturday, 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday and 9 A.M. until funeral time Monday at the funeral home.

Christine Elizabeth Turner Guajardo, 52, Ringgold, Ga.

Christine Elizabeth Turner Guajardo, 52, of Ringgold, Georgia passed early Friday, December 8th, 2017.

A fierce, loyal friend, Christine brightly shone on all who knew her. Chris was born in Mobile, Alabama on February 18th, 1965 and moved to Ringgold, Georgia in 1972. She was Valedictorian of the 1983 Ringgold High School Class and loved being the Tiger mascot. Chris earned a B.S. from the University of North Georgia and a Masters from University of North Florida. She worked as a social worker for the State of Florida and created many programs and events that helped thousands of people. She continued her career in the insurance industry.

She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Turner.

Chris is survived by her spouse Jose’ Guajardo, daughters Chase and Elena, mother Carolyn Turner, sister Catherine Turner, niece Cara (Josh) Crain and great niece Coral Crain. The world lost a strong, caring and loving woman that left a mark on all she encountered.

Visitation: Ringgold United Methodist Church from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, December 11th with a Celebration of Life ceremony at 6:00 pm with Dr. Ben Cathy and Rev. Chris Fillers officiating.

Burial will be private.

Christopher Michael Higdon, 43, Chattanooga, Tenn.

Christopher Michael Higdon, 43, of Chattanooga, passed away on December 07, 2017.

Chris was a Chattanooga native from East Ridge, Tennessee where he attended High School and where he excelled in wrestling, football and baseball. Chris also was an avid NASCAR and Tennessee Vols Fan. Chris was a loyal and excellent employee at Ralph White Electric and a member of the IBEW Local #175 Electrician Union. Chris will be best known for his great sense of humor, joking and cutting up all the time with his friends and family.

He is preceded in death is his son, Casey Alexander Giddy. Chris we will miss you!

Survivors include his wife, Heather Renee Higdon, children, Madison, Mason, Andrew and Parker Higdon, his parents, James Sr. and Carolyn Higdon of Chattanooga, brother, James Higdon Jr, sisters, Misty, Candi, Stephanie and Sheena, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services: 1:00 PM on Monday, December 11, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment: Lakewood Memory Gardens – South.

Mitzi Collen McCullough, 65

Mitzi Collen McCullough, 65 passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at her residence.

She was born February 25, 1952 to the late Glenn and Wanda Ivens McCullough. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her brother in law, Timothy Jenkins.

During her life she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A quote from her special friend, "My best friend’s passing leaves a void in my universe that will never be filled".

Survivors include her sisters, Sherry Jenkins, Wendy (Karl) Osterheldt, and Judy McCullough. Brother, Jason (Norma Orellano) McCullough. Four nieces and nephews and a special friend, William Price also survive.

Charlus Lea Smith Hayes, 86, Calhoun, Ga.

Charlus Lea Smith Hayes, 86 of Calhoun, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017.

She had lived in the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas and was of the Baptist faith. She was employed with Knights Inn for many years as a housekeeper and was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hayes and two sisters, Claudine Fortner and Johnny Ward.

Survivors include her children, Marcella Rylee of Calhoun, GA, Peggy Boyd of Flintstone, GA, David Bryson, Joe Hayes, Jr. of Chattanooga, TN, Paul Bryson, Billy Wayne Hayes of Dallas, GA, Joseph Hayes of Rossville, GA and Zarah Jones of East Ridge, TN; 44 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and extended family & friends.

Funeral services: 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel.

Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
