James "Jim" Beaty, 74, Summerville

James "Jim" Beaty, age 74, of Summerville passed away Friday, September 01, 2017.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He spent most of his life working as a nurse. Jim also liked to read, garden and loved painting

Preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Baty.

Survived by brothers, Alris Baty of Rochester NY, and Adrian Baty of Hankamer, TX; sisters, Ava Lee of Rock Spring and Alva Barrett of Tulsa OK; also survived by one uncle, three aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside service: Sunday, September 3rd at 2 p.m. at the LaFayette City Cemetery.

Robustino "Tino" Renta Rivera, 81, LaFayette

Robustino "Tino" Renta Rivera, age 81, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Harbor Lights Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores "Dee" Rivera.

He is survived by his children, Tom Arrington of LA, Eddie Rivera of Ohio, Amie Rivera of LaFayette, Nina Rivera Murabito of KY, and Irene Garcia of LaFayette; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Joyce Lynn Liles, 62, LaFayette

Joyce Lynn Liles, age 62, of LaFayette passed away Monday, September 4, 2017.

She was a member of Foster Mill Drive Baptist Church and an employee of Roper Corporation.

She is survived by her brother, Hoss (Marti) Liles of LaFayette and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Foster Mill Drive Baptist Church with Pastor Ronnie Pettyjohn officiating.

Visitation: 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. Wednesday, September 6 at the funeral home.

Burial: Fuller Cemetery, Ider, Ala.

Rowland Jones, 76, LaFayette

Rowland Jones, age 76, of LaFayette passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Letha Sue Jones; and daughter, Sandra Kay Jones.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Ballard Jones; daughters, Amy (Tim) Ingram, Laura Childs, Heather Childs, Nellie Jones, and Margie Jones all of LaFayette; sons, Anthony (Monica) Jones and Thomas Jones all of LaFayette; sisters, Mary Beringause of Atlanta and Julie Wallin of LaFayette; brothers, Virgil Jones and Jake Jones both of CA, Romey Jones of OR, and Jack Jones of LaFayette; grandchildren, Suzanne Short, Tapaingha Millsaps; Brooklyn Bradley, Taylor Bradley, Payton Childs, Braden Childs, and Levi Childs; great grandchildren, Alison Weaver and Ansliey Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Friday, September 8, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Malcolm Harris officiating.

Burial: McIntyre Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Ronald Lynn James, 57, LaFayette

Ronald Lynn James, age 57, of LaFayette passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Tric" James; parents, Roy James and Lottie Loden James; brothers, Marvin James and Jesse James; sister, Patricia Gail James; and nephew, Michael Heddleston.

Survived by his sister, Zelma Robinette; niece, Jessica Womack both of Grandview, Tenn.; nephew, Allen Heddleston of Fla; and several great nieces and great nephews.

There will be no funeral service or interment.

Wanda Jean Boatwright Curtin, 65, Fort Oglethorpe

Wanda Jean Boatwright Curtin, 65 of Fort Oglethorpe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, September 6, 2017.

She had lived in the Chattanooga & North Georgia areas for most of her life and was a member of Crosspath Church in East Ridge. She retired from American Home Patient in 2003 after more than 15 years of service as a Home Health Nurse & the District Billing Manager. She enjoyed spending time outside gardening, but her legacy that she leaves behind is the love she had for others. She will always be remembered for putting everyone else’s needs before her own and she took true joy in helping those in need. She went above and beyond the calling of being a Servant of God. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be truly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Boatwright and Gladys Mullens; brother, Johnny Lee Boatwright and two sisters, Nancy White Spittler and Linda Shiffert Berkley.

Survivors include her loving husband of more than 25 years, John Andrew Curtin of Fort Oglethorpe, GA; children & spouses, Michelle & Wes Bridges of Flintstone, GA, Dana & Brad Cothran of Chattanooga, TN, Randy & Crystal Williams of Ringgold, GA, Leah & Cecil Youngs of Rock Spring, GA and Lynn & Daniel Knight of Houston, TX; brother, James Edward Boatwright of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Patricia & Gary Barg of Republican City, NB; 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.

Celebration of life service: Noon, Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. William Jacques and Bro. Mike Hendrix officiating.

Visitation: 11 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
