Mac Hise, 74, LaFayette

Mac Hise, 74, of LaFayette, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 while traveling home from a day of shooting with longtime friends.

Mr. Hise was a graduate of LaFayette High School where he played Football with the successful 1957-1959 teams, many members of which became lifelong friends. He attended College at Freed-Hardeman, where he met his first wife, Carol Ann Ogle. They resided in LaFayette, Georgia and had a daughter, Leisa Hise Jones. During his early career, Mac was a Quality Control Engineer for E.T. Barwick Corporation. He earned an Associate’s Degree in Engineering from Dalton College, and continued a career in the Carpet/Textile Industry until the mid-1980’s.

Mac married Marty Howard Hise in 1974. They resided in LaFayette, Georgia and had a son, Stewart Hise and a daughter, Kelly Hise Dobson. During the late 1980’s, Mac became interested in computers. He began reading and experimenting with building computers in his garage. Soon he formed Micro Concepts and began building and servicing computers in the Walker County and Atlanta area. He continued working as a self- taught Network Operations Consultant until his passing. Mac also served his community as Chairman of The Walker County Tax Assessors Board.

Mac was a National Champion in several categories as a Competitive Sporting Clay Shooter. He loved going to San Antonio, Texas each year for the National Shoot. He also liked playing guitar and listening to music. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his shooting buddies and family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Ann Ogle Hise; and parents, Chester A. Hise and Bessie Williams Hise.

He is survived by his daughters, Leisa (Chris) Jones of LaFayette and Kelly (Russell) Dobson of Scottsdale, AZ; son, Stewart (Tifinie) Hise of Ooltewah, Tenn.; grandchildren, MacKenzie Jones, Bailey Jones, Ty Jones, Seth Hise, Aaron Hise, William Dobson, and Robert Dobson; and comp: 2 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Trinity Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Russ Dobson, Chris Jones, Coby Large, Ty Jones Seth Hise, Terry York, and Mark Hise.

Honorary pallbearers: Lewis Dyer, Norris Hall, Steve Tipton, Tommy Tipton, Mike Tipton, Ronnie Futo, Earl Gilbreath, James Akins, Billy Mullinax, Joe Thrash, Gary Farmer, Reese Harris, Troy Peak, and Malcolm Pickard.

Visitation: Wednesday from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Thursday from 12 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kelly Glen Stephenson, 65, LaFayette, Ga.

Kelly Glen Stephenson, age 65, of LaFayette passed away Friday, October 6, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Stephenson and Flora Stephenson; grandparents, Glenn and Sina Stephenson and Henry and Bertie Kinsey.

He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Sue Stephenson; daughters, Ally (Cody) Chastain of Rocky Face, Breanna Davis and Dakota Davis both of Dalton; son, Chris (Brittany) Davis of Chatsworth; grandchildren, Aubrey Chastain, Connor Chastain, Teagan Thacker, and Caden Davis; sisters, Cathy Stephenson, Cyndi Griggs, and Lori Ware all of Villanow; aunt, Clara Simmons; uncle, Jerry Stephenson; special niece, Shannon Butler of Villanow; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Leland and Sandy O’Bryant, and Allen Harmon.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Cliff Chambers officiating.

Interment: Family cemetery.

Gerry Randall Duvall, 55, LaFayette, Ga.

Gerry Randall Duvall, age 55, of LaFayette passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Billy Duvall Sr. and Delear Hall Duvall.

He is survived by his sister, Karen Duvall of LaFayette; brothers, Chuck Duvall and Charlie (Lesa) Brown both of LaFayette; nieces, Lacey Wade and Raven Duvall; three great nieces; and one great nephew.

No funeral service or interment.

William Danny Jones, 79, Rocky Face, Ga.

William Danny Jones, age 79, of Rocky Face (formerly of the Woodstation Community) passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jimmie Black Jones; son, Bobby Jones; parents, William Ralph Jones and Exus Josephine Creswell Jones; and brother, John Jones.

He is survived by his sons, Scott (Sherrie) Jones of Ball Ground, GA and Chris (Sally) Jones of Ringgold; grandchildren, Wesley Jones, Duncan Jones, Kara Jeater, and Mindy Jones; several great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; sister, Mary Ann Pruitt; brothers, Lewis Jones, Steve Jones, and Jack Jones; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Bobby Lee Weaver, 62, LaFayette, Ga.

Bobby Lee Weaver, age 62, of LaFayette passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, and playing cards.

He was preceded in death his parents, Pete and Jenny Weaver; and brother, Gary T. Weaver Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Weaver of LaFayette; daughters, Misty (Art) Williams of Illinois and Breonna (Scott) Peters of Chickamauga; sons, Brian Weaver of LaFayette and Pete (Krysten) Weaver of McDonough, GA; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren; sisters, Elaine (George) Davis of Rossville and Lou Weaver of LaFayette; brothers, Danny (Matilda) Weaver Sr. and Greg "Reecee" Weaver both of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services: 2 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with special friends, Fuzzy Weaver and Terry Ridley officiating.

Interment: LaFayette City Cemetery.
