Jacky William Thomas, 67, Chickamauga

Jacky William Thomas, age 67, of Chickamauga passed away at Memorial Hospital Friday, July 14, 2017.

Born in Cedartown Georgia in 1950, Jacky was of the Baptist faith and was a self-employed drywall installer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Mae Thomas; brother, Frank Thomas; and nephew, DeWayne Thomas.

Survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Debbie Thomas; daughters, Holly (Danny) Claire, Heather Thomas Fleming, and Christy Thomas all of Chickamauga; grandchildren, Kaylee Claire, Jenna Claire, Sean Claire, Seth Claire, Emma Fleming, Benson Thomas, and Kynlee Ann; sisters, Betty Martin of Chickamauga and Marilyn (George) Baker of LaFayette; brothers, Wayne (Diane) Thomas and Curtis (Debbie) Thomas all of Chickamauga, and Ralph Thomas of LaFayette; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 6 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel.

Burial: LaFayette City Cemetery.

Visitation: At the funeral home Monday from 4 p.m. until hour of service.

Jorena Shepherd Joyner, 68, Rock Spring

Jorena Shepherd Joyner, age 68, of Rock Spring passed away Friday, July 14, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.

She was the daughter of the late William Shepherd and Emma Polk Shepherd. JoRena was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and attended Oakwood Baptist Church.

Survived by her devoted and loving husband of 47 years, Larry Joyner of Rock Spring; daughter, Lindsey (Mac) McClure; sons, Greg (Joy) Joyner and Shannon Joyner all of Rock Spring; grandchildren, Blake Joyner, Brooke Joyner, Paxton McClure, Maya Joyner, Asa McClure, and Robee Joyner; sisters, ReGena Demere and Billie Schnider both of Macon, Ga., and DeAnn Borders of Byron, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of life service: 7 p.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 381 Wood Station Road, Rock Spring, GA 30739 with Pastor Frank Kelley officiating.

Private interment: Rock Spring Cemetery.

Visitation: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, July 21 at the funeral home.

Arland "Bud" Travis Pevehouse, 84, Rocky Face

Arland "Bud" Travis Pevehouse, age 84, of Rocky Face passed away at his home Tuesday, July 18, 2017.

He was born in 1932 in Hohenwald Tennessee to the late Jim Pevehouse and Blossom Miller Pevehouse. He was a Korean War veteran.

He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Rosa Lee Pevehouse of Rocky Face; daughter, Debbie Bowers of Chickamauga; sons, Dale Pevehouse of LaFayette, Gary Pevehouse of Adairsville, and Buddy Pevehouse of LaFayette; five grandchildren; several great grandchildren; brother, Sam Pevehouse of Arizona; several nieces and nephews; and several brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.

Funeral service: 11 a.m. Thursday, July 20, 2017 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor John Eldridge officiating.

Interment: White Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Kurt Ridley, Zackery Ridley, Tyler Todd, Robbie Thompson, Austin Todd, and Eric Mitchell. Honorary pallbearer: Justin Thompson.

Visitation: At the funeral home from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 19.

Larry Douglas "Doug" Tucker II, 46, Ringgold

Larry Douglas "Doug" Tucker II, age 46 of Ringgold passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017.

Doug was born February 15, 1971 in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. He was employed by Pro Diesel Repair, which was owned by his father. Rodeo was the love of his life and bull riding was the event he excelled in, especially in the 90’s. Doug was encouraged by his bull riding uncle, Ricky Smith.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Johnnie Ruth Tucker, and T.W. and Margaret Smith.

Survived by his father, Larry Douglas Tucker, Sr.; mother, Myra Kay (Raymond) Randles; daughter, Bailey A. Mann; and son, Rowdy L. Tucker; several aunts, uncles, many cousins and best friend, Jenny Brown also survive.

Celebration of Life service: in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel Thursday, July 20th at 7:00 P.M.

Visitation: At the funeral home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until service.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of choice.

Florence Lucy Green Peters, 97, of Ringgold

Florence Lucy Green Peters, 97, of Ringgold, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 19 2017 at her residence.

A lifelong resident of the Ringgold area, she was a former employee of Sweetwater Carpet where she worked for 19 years and was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ira E. Peters; parents, William "Jeff" and Lula Freeman Green; grandson, Denny Peters; great granddaughter, Brianna Mosley; sister, Mildred Brock and five brothers, Arnold Green, Carl Green, Fred Manis, Lewis Manis, and Lamar Manis.

She is survived by five children, Kenneth (Linda) Peters, Marion (Myra) Peters, Howard (Johnnie) Peters, Gary (Della) Peters and Brenda (Herman) Kapherr all of Ringgold, GA.; brother, Earnest (Dorothy) Green of Ringgold, GA, eleven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services: 2:30 P.M. Friday July 21, 2017 at Gordy Cemetery with Bro. Herman Kapherr officiating.

Visitation: Friday from 12-2 P.M. at the funeral home.

D.F. Webb Sr., 95, Rossville

Mr. D. F. Webb Sr., 95, of Rossville passed away Wednesday July 19, 2017.

Mr. Webb proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Sharp Shooter in WWII while Stationed in Okinawa, Japan and New Caledonia, New Zealand, he also owned and operated Webb’s T.V. repair service for 45 years.

Mr. Webb is preceded in death by his parents, Wife; Rosa Lee Webb, son; Alan C. Webb, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.

Mr. Webb is survived by his son Felix Webb Jr. grandchildren Alan "Cliff" Webb Jr., Molly Cagle and Sarah Webb as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.

Iva J. Mahan, 68, Ascalon, Ga.

Iva J. Mahan, age 68 of Ascalon, GA passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 after a brief illness.

She was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a member of Lookout Missionary Baptist Church. Iva retired from TVA in 2011 after more than 20 yrs. and was a loving sister, aunt and friend, who will be greatly missed.

Iva was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. "Bill" and Dorothy "Dot" Mahan and sister, Betha Mahan.

She is survived by her sister, Kay (Luke) Hentz; brothers, Terry Mahan and Ray Mahan; uncle, Henry Collins; aunt, June Gravitt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service: 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 22, 2017 in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Charles McElhaney and Rev. Alvin Cummings officiating.

Burial: Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Visitation: From 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday and prior to the service on Saturday.
