Mildred Ruth Watts Williams, 76, LaFayette, Ga.

Mildred Ruth Watts Williams, age 76, of LaFayette passed away Friday, February 02, 2018.

She was born on April 02, 1941 in LaFayette, Georgia to Roy Watts and Eva Lemming Watts, and she was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Williams; her parents; one sister, Marion Miller; and two brothers, Donald and Jimmy Watts.

Mildred is survived by her daughter, Robin Kyle of LaFayette; sons and daughter-in-law, Royce (Sandra) Williams of Rocky Face; and Chip Williams of LaFayette; grandchildren, Lara (Steven) StClair, Logan Kyle, Morgan (Nick) Obey, Jenna (Stryker) Brown, Christopher Pledger, Jake Williams, and Mack Williams; great grandchildren, Isabella, Ruby, Sawyer, and Sadie Ruth; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral: Wilbanks Memorial Chapel Sunday, February 4th at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Weaver officiating.

Interment: Private in McIntyre Cemetery.

Visitation: Saturday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Martha D. Richardson, 92, East Armuchee Community

Martha D. Richardson, 92, of the East Armuchee Community passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Richardson; parents, Billy and Evalee Reed Grigsby; and brother, David Grigsby.

She is survived by her daughter, Delores (Buddy) Chapman of LaFayette; son, James (Kathy) Richardson of LaFayette; sister-in-law, Delores Grigsby; grandchildren, Shannon (Michael) White, Jamie (Lori) Richardson, Josh (Karla) Chapman, Phil Chapman, Zack (Melinda) Chapman; 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special friend of more than 89 years, Montine Bible of Augusta, Ga.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Monday February 5, 2018 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Zack Chapman, Ricky Studdard and Ken Brown officiating.

Visitation: Monday from 12 p.m. until hour of service.

Interment: East Armuchee Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Josh Chapman, Phil Chapman, Zack Chapman, Jamie Richardson, Colby Chapman, and Christian Waits.

Honorary pallbearers: Roy and Doris Fagan and the loving staff of Our County Home.

Cheryl Jill Ray, 72, LaFayette, Ga.

Cheryl Jill Ray, age 72, of LaFayette passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvin Chamlee and Velma Shropshire Chamlee; and brother, Kenny Chamlee.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth "Ken" Ray of LaFayette; daughters, Cheri (Brian) Bird of Ringgold and Hope (Jason) Burgamy of Woodstock, Ga.; grandchildren, Blaine Bird, Bryce Bird, Carson Burgamy, and Briley Burgamy; sister, Brenda Tripp of Chickamauga; and several nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service: 2 p.m. Sunday, February 11, 2018 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jimmy Weaver officiating.

Visitation: Following the service, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

William Arlin "Bill" McDaniel, 87

William Arlin "Bill" McDaniel, age 87, died on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

This most generous, loving, hardworking man was born on February 11, 1930 to the late Arlin and Eunice McDaniel. Bill grew up in LaFayette and graduated from LaFayette High School. He worked at Thurman’s Five & Ten for a number of years. He then was elected and served as Magistrate Judge for several years before being elected to the office of Clerk of Court, an office he held for 36 years until he retired. Bill was a man of great faith and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church, of which his father was one of the founders. He was deacon, treasurer, and participated in many other areas of the church.

Bill and his wife, Janett, built a beautiful home, and worked together to maintain it. Bill loved God, his family, fishing, his dogs and cows, and football. He never met a stranger, and always tried to help those with whom he came into contact.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Janett, to whom he was married for 60 years. Survivors also include his loving sister, Ann McDaniel; brother, Allen McDaniel (Gail); and his sister-in-law, Montine McDaniel. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack McDaniel. He leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Bill overcame many adversities in his life and was a man to be admired. He was loved by all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home.

Interment: Center Point Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Johnny Smith, Gene Smith, Dan McDaniel, Maurice Shattuck, Kevin McDaniel, Chad Wallin, and Randall Walker.

Visitation: Tuesday from 12 p.m. until hour of service.

Phyllis Diane Ridley, 60, LaFayette, Ga.

Phyllis Diane Ridley, age 60, of LaFayette passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey Allen Ridley and Mary Hill Pierce; stepfather, Larry Bruce Pierce.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda (Ed) Mobley of Hazlehurst, Ga.; grandchildren, Devin Norton and Judson Mobley; sister, Tina Pierce (Rodney Neal) of LaFayette; brothers, Edward (Angela) Ridley, Tim Ridley (Shirley Tucker), and Bruce Pierce (Cathy Jones) all of LaFayette; special aunt, Cheryl Hughes; special nephew, Jacob Pierce; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Ashe officiating.

No interment.

Mike Smalley

Mike Smalley, a cowboy, farrier, rodeo clown and veteran -- passed peacefully in his sleep at his residence on Tuesday February 6, 2018.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin David "Shorty" Smalley and Ida Belle Fletcher Smalley and an infant sibling, Ruth.

He was beloved father to Carma Kay Smalley Ellison and Brandy Lee Smalley. Other relatives include his grandchildren, a great granddaughter, his brothers, and dear cousin. His animals were a tremendous part of his life, and he is also survived by two dogs, Mattie, and Miss "e", also Jeffrey J Jackass, and two horses, Moe and Charlie. We love and miss you so much! God needed a clown for the rodeo and a farrier for the herd, so he had to call you home. We know your entry fees are paid and you are now a contestant at that Big Rodeo in the Sky!

Celebration of Life service: To be held at a later date.

Audrey Elizabeth Osburn, 81, Chickamauga, Ga.

Audrey Elizabeth Osburn, 81, of Chickamauga, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday February 3, 2018 in a local healthcare facility.

Audrey was born September 29, 1936 in Chickamauga, GA to the late John Cecil and Jewel Doran. She had a long and satisfying career working in childcare and as a kindergarten teacher. A devoted Christian, Audrey was a proud member of the Dorcas Sunday School Class, First Baptist Church in Chickamauga, GA.

With her passing, Audrey joins in heaven her husband of 48 years Lamar Osburn, her son Jeffery Osburn, sister, Doris Strickland and brothers, Cecil and Roger Doran.

She is remembered with profound love and gratitude by her children, Philip (Connie) Osburn, Andrea Redd and Christopher (Kemey) Osburn; granddaughters, Nicole (Sonny) Taylor, Holly Sweat and Caitlyn Sweat; great-grandchildren, Stephen and Cade Crider, Macie and Millie Taylor; brother, Don Doran; sister, Sandra (John) Mastrangelo and her beloved dog, Chloe.

Helen Imogean Collins, 90, Flintstone, Ga.

Helen Imogean Collins, 90, of Flintstone, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 in a local healthcare facility.

Mrs. Collins was born in Flintstone, Georgia on July 18, 1927 to the late Arthur and Blanche Parham and has been a life-long resident of the North Georgia area for many years. She retired from Noland Company in Chattanooga where she worked as an Accounts Manager. She also was a substitute teacher with Walker County School’s for several years. She was a member of the first graduating class of Chattanooga Valley High School in 1945 and was active in the marching band as a majorette. She was also a former member of St. Elmo Avenue Baptist Church in Chattanooga as well as The Order of The Eastern Star in the St. Elmo and Ridgedale communities of Chattanooga. She enjoyed teaching baton lessons, judging twirling contests, her swimming pool, flowers and sewing. She will always be remembered as being a very sociable, loving person and one to enjoy conversations.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Fred Collins, son, Gerry Collins, brother, Roy Parham and sister, Irene Parham.

Survivors include her son, Art (Debbie) Collins, grandchildren, Josh, Rachel, Jenny, Missy (Dirk), Mary and Hillary, great-grandchildren, Moriah, Eli, Emma and Hayden, great great-grandchild, Braylon, several nieces and nephews, brother, S.G. (Edna) Parham, sister, Diane Parham (Charles) Elliot and aunt, Helen Bowyer.

Funeral services: 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Chris Hulsey officiating.

Interment: Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
