A Ringgold man was arrested for battery for allegedly slamming his estranged girlfriend’s head against a brick wall.
According to LaFayette Police Department reports:
On Thursday, Dec. 10, shortly after midnight, police were dispatched to an apartment complex on Campbell Avenue.
Police, while enroute, were advised that a man who had allegedly attacked a woman had left in his vehicle.
The suspect, 32-year-old Brandon Scott Allgood, was pulled over by a Walker County sheriff’s deputy at the intersection of U.S. Highway 27 and East Reed Road.
When a police officer arrived at the apartment complex, he met with the woman, who was bleeding profusely from the back of her head.
She told the officer that when she arrived home, Allgood approached her vehicle, demanding one of his daughter’s toys from inside the residence.
She said she told Allgood to wait outside while she retrieved the toy, but that Allgood came inside anyway. She said she asked him to leave and an argument ensued in which he slammed her head into the side of the brick building.
Allgood was transported to the Walker County jail and charged with battery, criminal trespassing and misdemeanor theft.
The cut on the woman’s head was a quarter-inch laceration and she was taken to the hospital for treatment.
