LaFayette police responded to a domestic situation where a man was reported to have allegedly choked his girlfriend and then arrested for simple battery.
According to LaFayette Police Department reports:
On Friday, Jan. 10, about 4 p.m., James Joshua Jack Nez, 34 of LaFayette, was in a domestic argument with his girlfriend at a residence off Bradley Avenue.
When police arrived, they noticed marks on the woman’s neck that supported her statement against Nez.
The two were reported to be in a heated argument that turned physical and Nez allegedly choked the woman.
Nez was taken into custody and transported to the Walker County jail and charged with simple battery.
