Tiger Creek Elementary School in Catoosa County hosted its first “Lunch and Learn” Friday afternoon, Sept. 20, with third-grade students, parents, guardians, and teachers. Third-grade parents and guardians feasted on the school’s wonderful TCE lunch and enjoyed time together with classmates. Afterward, each homeroom went back to class where teachers shared student achievement levels from the beginning of the year.

Student-created data notebooks were shared with families so individual progress and needs could be discussed. All of the information was then used to create student goals for the next nine weeks. Teachers prepared academic materials and take-home activities to help students practice reading, writing, and math skills at home. More than 60 parents and guardians were in attendance and everyone agreed that working together will endure high student achievement for all students.
