Mickey and Billie Skates of LaFayette, Ga., would like to announce the marriage of their daughter, Wendy Skates, to David Banther, of Chattanooga, Tenn. The ceremony was held July 6, at 6 p.m., on the creekbank at the Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

The bride wore a strapless, satin, ivory gown with beading and an ivory bow on the bodice. The back of the gown was styled with an ivory ribbon lace-up and train. She carried a bouquet of hot pink, yellow, orange and Caribbean blue Gerbera daisies.

Megan White, the bride's daughter, served as maid of honor. She wore a Caribbean blue dress with silver and diamond jewelry, and silver heels. Her bouquet echoed the bride’s flowers with a mix of hot pink, yellow, orange and Caribbean blue Gerbera daisies.

Best man was Alex White, the bride's son. Groomsmen attire was black pants with a Caribbean Blue button-up dress shirt.

Music for the ceremony included “When God Made You” by Newsong / Natalie Grant; “I Promise You” by Michael Bolton; “Amazed” by Lonestar and “Walking Her Home” by Mark Shultz.

Officiating minister was David Russell of Smokey Mtn. chaplain services. Wendy and David wrote their own vows to each other.

A reception was held at the LaFayette Housing community room, July 13, at 6 p.m.

The Banthers now reside in LaFayette, Ga.
