Summer art camp for kids at 6th Cavalry Museum in Fort Oglethorpe
The 6th Cavalry Museum in Fort Oglethorpe is the place for kids to be this summer. Children, ages 7-10, will have a week’s worth of artistic fun at summer art camp the week of June 24-28. Kids will be artistically challenged and entertained while developing and learning new skills. Local artist and art teacher Durinda Cheek has pulled together a week’s worth of creative fun for the artist in your family. Campers will spend the week working with a variety of mediums and techniques. They’ll draw, paint, make collages, try printmaking, and sculpt inspired by famous artists and artworks. The camp ends on Friday with a gallery show of the camper’s artwork which they’ll take home with them. Camp meets 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Class size is limited to 12. There is a 10% sibling discount.
