As if getting robbed wasn't bad enough, a Ringgold family had several Christmas gifts stolen recently when their home was burglarized on Fowler Road off Battlefield Parkway, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, nearly $3,500 worth of items was stolen from the residence on Dec. 7, including several wrapped Christmas presents.

The victim told police she left the home around 9:30 a.m. and returned home that afternoon to find the home had been ransacked with several items missing.

"The victim stated that she entered her residence to find several drawers and cabinets open in the kitchen and household items on the floor," Deputy Duane Neal said.

Police discovered that the rear door of the residence was open with the glass busted out of it, reports show.

Numerous electronics, two guitars, jewelry, and a Nikon camera with lenses were stolen during the incident.

"The victim stated that there were several wrapped Christmas missing along with the several other listed items," Neal said.

Anyone with information about the burglary or the stolen property is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department at 706-935-2424.
