Catoosa County sheriff's detectives are investigating a residential burglary in which a dog was stolen, police say.
According to the Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred on Arbor Mill Lane sometime during the week after Thanksgiving while the resident was out of town.
On Nov. 29, the victim called the Sheriff's Department after returning home to find several residences broken into and several items — including a pet dog — missing.
"I observed an open window in the front of the residence," Deputy Marvin Thompson said. "I also observed a window open on the back side of the residence that appeared to be pried open."
Multiple jackets, a computer tablet, cooler, air pistol, decorative Japanese pictures, two convection ovens, and multiple pairs of shoes were stolen, in addition to the pet dog.
The dog is described as a black Chihuahua.
Anyone with information about the theft or the missing animal is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department at 706-935-2424.
