A dirt bike was stolen from the bed of pickup truck at the Ga. Welcome Center along I-75 in Catoosa County, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 3.

The victim told police he parked at the welcome center from 2:30 a.m. to 8 a.m., and discovered the motorbike was missing shortly after leaving.

"He stated the motorcycle had been in the back of his pickup truck and ratcheted down when he arrived at the welcome center," Deputy Adam Hare said.

The man said he didn't see or hear anything unusual while parked at the welcome center.

The dirt bike is described as a 2017 KTM CC49 valued at $4,150.

Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the missing motorbike is encouraged to contact the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department at 706-935-2424.
