On Monday, Dec. 18, two days before Christmas break, representatives from Community National Bank, along with Catoosa County school board member Gloria Hunt, visited two local elementary schools to hand out bags of treats.
At Cloud Springs Elementary School 190 children who are eligible for the free lunch program received bags full of snacks and microwavable meals. At West Side Elementary School, two pre-K classes got coloring books, crayons and Christmas mugs.
"We wanted to give back to the community," said Natalie Hunt, vice president of Community National Bank at Ringgold. "Helping children in some of our area schools seemed like a good way to do that."
Hunt says the bank plans to do the same next year and will try to expand what they give.
