Catoosa County's Human Resources Department recently brought home an award after being recognized as the best medium-sized agency human resources department in the state.

During the Nov. 21 Board of Commissioners meeting, County Manager Jim Walker recognized the department for its fine work and recent honor.

"They went to an annual conference, and they came back with a plaque awarding Catoosa County as the Best Medium-sized agency in the state for human resources," Walker explained. "A lot of counties our size have much bigger human resource staffs. We have two, Director Ann Cain, and specialist Marie Barbee."

Walker praised the duos great work in representing the county.

"The fact that we've been recognized at the state level for excellence in human resources speaks highly not only of the county, but of Ms. Cain also. She does a great job."
