Catoosa County sheriff's detectives are investigating the burglary of a Rossville convenience store, in which someone busted out a glass door of the building and made off with cash and cigarettes.
According to the Sheriff's Department, the incident occurred at the Victory Fuels gas station at 1750 Lafayette Road in Rossville just after 5 a.m. on Aug. 18.
Deputies arrived on scene to find the front glass door busted out and a hammer laying on the ground near the entrance behind the counter, reports show.
The store manager told deputies that money and cigarettes were stolen and that the store's video surveillance captured the burglary.
"The suspect pulled his car into the parking lot and parked on the north side of the building," deputy Rick Ellison said. "The suspect then broke out the front glass door and entered the business and went around the counter and opened a dark colored bag. He opened the cash register and took the cash, then got cigarettes from the storage area behind the counter and exited the business."
The suspect is described as a white male wearing a dark blue or black sleeveless shirt and shorts. He was also wearing white socks, black tennis shoes, a floppy hat, and florescent green gloves.
The vehicle was described as a four-door passenger car.
