A Catoosa County resident is out a couple of appliances and some flooring material after his storage unit off Battlefield Parkway in Ringgold was burglarized, police say.

According to the Catoosa County Sheriff's Department, the theft occurred sometime between Jan. 14 and 22 at the Metro Storage facility on Liberty Lane in front of the Benton Place Campus.

On Jan. 22, the victim called the Sheriff's Department after discovering that multiple Whirlpool brand washing machine and dryer combos were stolen from his storage unit.

"The victim stated an unknown person(s) stole several Whirlpool stacked washer and dryer units from his storage building, as well as a roll of floor runner and a bundle of moving pads," Cpl. George Wooten said.

The victim couldn't immediately supply detectives with serial number information regarding the missing appliances, but did state that the someone replaced his lock with another after breaking in.
