Wilson graduates from Marine boot camp

Brad Wilson, of Fairmount, graduated from Paris Island Boot Camp on Jan. 5, 2018, officially becoming a Marine.

The grueling 13-week training course included instruction on military history, martial arts, deep water swimming, weapons and firing training, combat training, and culminated with a 57-hour field exercise known as The Crucible, when Wilson officially received his Eagle, Globe and Anchor, symbolizing his transformation from a recruit to a Marine.

Wilson was also recognized for his outstanding performance and was promoted to Private First Class during his training. He is currently attending Infantry Training at Camp Geiger, N.C. Upon completion, he will be assigned to a permanent duty station.

Wilson is a 2017 graduate of Sonoraville High School.
