Wednesday night accident on 225 results in two airlifted

An accident Wednesday night saw three total transported to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn., two of them were airlifted.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, shortly after 6 p.m. on June 21, a 2012 Toyota Corolla, driven by Candy Lynn Davis, 40, of Ellijay, was traveling north on GA 225 when, for reasons unknown, she crossed the center line, striking a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Alvin Harold Jones, 72, of Cisco, head on.

Davis, along with a passenger in Jones vehicle, 59-year-old Judy Faye Jones, also of Cisco, were both airlifted to Erlanger. Alvin Jones was transported to Erlanger. A third passenger in Jones vehicle, Jaylen Leigh Jones, age 8, of Chatsworth, had no injuries. Updates on the conditions of the three transported to Erlanger were not available at press time.

Davis has been charged with driving on the wrong side of the roadway.
