Calhoun Middle seventh-grader Dylan Faulkner recently competed in the National AAU Junior Olympics in Houston, Tex. and came way with some impressive finishes.
Faulkner won the 12-year-old boys high jump with a distance of 1.60 meters (5-03 feet). He also took third in the pentathlon in the same division. He finished with a time of 14.06 in the 80 meter hurdles, 4.25 meters in the long jump, 11.88 meters in the shot put, 1.55 meters in the high jump and a time of 6:03.32 in the 1500 meter run.
Those performances follow up Faulkner winning the high jump and pentathlon at the Georgia Junior Olympics back in June. He is the son of Chuck and Taunya Faulkner, of Calhoun.
