According to multiple media reports, including the link below, former Calhoun High star Charlie Culberson is headed to play for the Atlanta Braves after being involved in a trade today.

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Matt Kemp from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for Adrián González, Scott Kazmir, Brandon McCarthy, Charlie Culberson and cash considerations.

Culberson is a 2007 graduate of Calhoun High and was drafted 51st overall by the San Francisco Giants in the 2007 MLB Draft. He has spent time playing with the Giants and Colorado Rockies and has been with the Dodgers for the past two seasons.

He is coming off a stellar performance in the playoffs for the Dodgers as he played in five of the seven World Series games and had three hits in his five at-bats, including a solo homer in the 11th inning of Game 2. Culberson made the World Series roster after an impressive National League Championship Series against the Chicago Cubs in which he went 5-for-11 with two doubles, a triple, an RBI and two runs scored.
