The Sequoyah Tennis Association, located in Calhoun, recently had seven teams play in the USTA Georgia State Tri-Level Tournament in LaGrange, and three of the teams came away as state champions, while one other earned runner-up honors.

Earning a state championship in their division was Hidemi Graves’ ladies 18 & over team (pictured first). Team members pictured are: Graves, Margaret Knight, Whitney Carnes, CJ Jones, Becky Quast, Christina Woods and Lisa Frazier. Not pictured was Cassie Quast and Kellie Pearson.

Also winning a state championship was Lee Charles’ men’s 40 & over team (pictured second). Team members pictured are: Charles, Mark Cox, Raymond Chang, Scott Carroll, Brian Proffitt and Jacin Bagwell. Not pictured was Chris King and Richard Ford.

Rounding out the state championships was Wayne Harper’s men’s 18 & over team (pictured third). Team members pictured are: Harper, Edward Jones, Brody Stocks, Corey Baxter, Walt Hartfield, Joe Stewart and Chad Kelley. Not pictured was David Gibson and Casey Baxter.

Earning a second-place finish was Darryl Teems’ men’s 40 & over team, which included Teems, Konrad Hull, Randy Price, Rudy Snyder, Edward Jones, Kenneth Dillard, Tom Dailey, Rick Lovelady and Greg Hadden.
