The Gordon Central Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball teams held a basketball camp last weekend. The camp was open for 1st-8th graders from around the county, and there were two or three even travel from Murray County.
According to Gordon Central girls coach Erick Hopper, there were more than 30 kids participate this year, even though it was Halloween weekend. With it being Halloween, the older kids even dressed up in costumes and welcomed the kids in the door.
“The past three years our camp is continuing to grow as we teach the fundamentals of the game such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive fundamentals,” said Hopper. “We had four coaches there, including our middle school coach, to help give as much one on one to the kids as possible. The kids seemed to have a great time and we look forward to doing it again next year.”
