Local youth athlete Dylan Faulkner recently competed in the USATF Georgia Association Junior Olympic Championship at Lovejoy High and came away with some big-time wins.
Faulkner finished first in the 11-12 boys division pentathlon with 2007 total points. In the five events included in the pentathlon, he took first in the high jump (1.61m), first in the long jump (4.39m), first in the shot put (11.07m), second in the 80 meter hurdles (14.49) and eighth in the 1500 meter run (7:28.35).
Faulkner also won the 11-12 boys division high jump event with a successful jump of 1.58 meters.
Faulkner is pictured with his medals following the Olympic Championship. He is a rising seventh-grader at Calhoun Middle School and is the son of Chuck and Taunya Faulkner, of Calhoun.
