Former Calhoun High stars and current MLB players Charlie Culberson and Josh Smoker helped get into the giving spirit during the holiday season last week as they served lunch at the Voluntary Action Center alongside current Calhoun High baseball players and coaches.
The group is pictured after serving lunch at the VAC.
Culberson, a 2007 Calhoun High graduate, was recently traded to the Atlanta Braves after spending the last two seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, including playing in the NLCS and World Series with the club.
Smoker, also a 2007 Calhoun High graduate, spent last season with the New York Mets, working out of the bullpen as a left-handed reliever.
Both Culberson and Smoker helped the Jackets to a state championship in 2005 and a state runner-up finish in 2007 while playing for longtime Calhoun head coach Chip Henderson.
