After a successful cross country and track career at Calhoun High School, Esvin Garcia has taken his talents to the college level while competing for the University of Montevallo in Alabama. At Montevallo, Garcia has competed in the Falcon Classic on their home course and the Trevecca D2 Showcase in Nashville, Tenn.

The University of Montevallo men’s cross country team captured the team championship in its division in the Falcon Classic on the Falcons’ home course. At the Trevecca D2 Showcase, the Falcons finished sixth overall.

At Calhoun, Garcia was named a four-time Rome All-Area Selection in cross country, qualified for the track and field state championship meet multiple times, was the region champion in the 1,600-meter run and 800-meter run during his junior season, and helped his cross country and track teams win multiple region championships or claim region runner-up finishes. Success follows hard work, which has been the case for Garcia for many years according to Calhoun High cross country head coach Justin Lindsey.
