KINGSPORT, Tenn. — Six Reinhardt University women’s basketball players received post-season honors from the Appalachian Athletic Conference at the AAC Tournamnet Banquet Wednesday night at the MeadowView Conference Center. The honors were highlighted by Taylor Johnson earning AAC Third-Team All-Conference, with Sonoraville High graduate Payton Smith and April Besley each earning AAC All-Defensive Team honors.

Johnson, the only senior on the Lady Eagles in 2013-14, is averaging 11.24 points per game through RU’s AAC Opening Round game against St. Andrews. The Suwanee, Ga., native is also averaging over five rebounds and two assists per game.

Smith and Besley were each named to the AAC All-Defensive Team. Smith, who was also an AAC All-Freshman Team honoree, ranks sixth in the nation in steals per game at 3.36. Smith led the AAC in steals per game as well.
