Former Sonoraville High standout and current Georgia Highlands player Drew Wilson got the chance to pitch alongside some of the best college players in the state this past Friday as he participated in the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association All-Star Game at Mercer University.
The right-handed Chargers pitcher, who will be going into his sophomore season this Spring, pitched one inning of scoreless relief in the contest with two strikeouts and a groundout back to the mound.
Wilson is coming off an impressive freshman season last Spring in which he was third in the conference in wins with eight, third in the conference in strikeouts (68) and fifth in the conference in ERA (3.25). He was also selected to GCAA Region All-Tournament Team.
In one season at Georgia Highlands, he is already the program’s all-time leader in complete games and shutouts in a single season and career.
