Several local wrestlers will make the trip to Macon this weekend with one goal in mind...winning an individual state title.

The GHSA State Traditional Tournament starts on Friday at the Macon Centreplex and wraps up on Saturday. Sonoraville leads the local teams in number of representatives going to compete with eight total. Making the trip for the Firebirds are Eli Knight (106), Hector Arbos (113), Allen Stone (120), Jayce Derryberry (126), Tyler Hunt (132), Trevor Burdick (138), Charlie Brown (182) and John Knight (195).

Calhoun wrestlers competing are Johnny Santana (106), Blake Bailey (113), Reece Poe (138) and JC Fuller (285).

Gordon Central has two wrestlers, Christian Davis (152) and Ethan Mitchell (220), competing in Class AA.
