The Gordon Central Lady Warriors carried over the momentum they built in non-region action earlier in the schedule by opening the Region 7-AA slate with a big road win on Thursday.

After Gordon Central earned two wins in three non-region games to open the season, they didn’t let up any on Thursday when they defeated Model 8-1 in region action. Morgan Frank led the way in the circle with a dominant performance, going all even innings for the complete game and giving up just two hits while striking out 13 batter and walking just two.

At the plate, the Lady Warriors (3-1, 1-0 in 7-AA) was led by Cara Crump who went 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Javan Vineyard also added two hits.

Gordon Central is on the road on Monday for a non-region test at Southeast Whitfield.
