The Calhoun Lady Jackets softball team had a special season this past Fall, and on Tuesday night they received a permanent reminder of it.

Calhoun, who won the Class AAA State Championship this past October for their fourth state title in the last five years, were honored between the Calhoun-Adairsville basketball games on Tuesday and players and coaches each received their state championship rings.

“This team gave definition to the words perseverance, determination, resiliency and overcoming adversity,” said Calhoun head coach Diane Smith on Tuesday.”With each obstacle they overcame, they became a stronger and better team. This ring tonight was well-deserved, and I feel it was appreciated by these girls more than any other before. I am so proud of each one of them.”
