The Sonoraville boys soccer team opened region play with an emphatic win on the road on Tuesday night.

The Phoenix (2-1, 1-0 6-AAA) visited Ringgold and put on an offensive show, winning 10-0 as the mercy rule ended the game in the 46th minute. The game was originally scheduled to be held at Sonoraville but was changed to Ringgold due to wet field conditions.

Alexander Soldevilla had a huge game with five goals and two assists to lead the way. Dawson Holbrook scored a pair of goals, and Samuel Garcia, Yorlin Piedresanta and Jacob Brookshire each added one.

Sonoraville was on the road on Thursday at Morris Innovative. (For details on that game, see Wednesday’s Calhoun Times.) They will return home on Wednesday to host Cass in a non-region contest at 7:30 p.m.
