Several local teams and runners will get their chance to test their abilities against the best in the state on Saturday as they compete in their respective State Meets.

Four local teams and one individual runner will make the trip to Carrollton to run against the top competition in Georgia after qualifying at Region last Tuesday. The Region 6-AAA champion Calhoun boys will run, along with the Sonoraville boys, in the Class AAA Boys Meet at 9:30 a.m., and the Region 6-AAA runner-up Calhoun girls as well as Sonoraville’s Riley Triplett will run in the Class AAA Girls Meet at 10:15 a.m.

The Gordon Central boys will kick off the day in the Class AA Boys Meet at 8 a.m.
