The Calhoun Lady Jackets brought their season to a close with a huge weekend in Columbus. The team started things off by earning the top spot in Class AAA Sectionals on Friday to advance to State on Saturday. They followed that up with a great performance on Saturday that earned them a score of 93.83 and a Class AAA State runner-up finish behind Pierce County (99.17).
“Coach Kacee McEntyre and I are beyond proud of the girls and their progress,” said Calhoun coach Katelyn Langston, who just finished her first year at the helm. “It has been a tough year for them, but they really came together as a team during the last few weeks of the season. It all came together when it mattered most and they had their best performance of the year on that State floor. It was an amazing weekend and a well deserved trophy.”
